What to do when you feel like you’re out of options?

January 11, 2012: We've all been in this position, no matter what we do we just can't see our way out of this proverbial paper bag. SO, what do we do?

Well, it seems to me that we have two options, we can walk away from the situation or we can try looking at it from another perspective.

Dr Wayne Dyer has written a book called "Excuses Begone". In this book his first line of attack on this type of situation is to ask the question "IS THIS TRUE?". So lets start there.

Is the situation REALLY what you think

When you don’t feel like doing!

January 10, 2012: What do you do when you don't FEEL like doing the thing you KNOW you need to do?

Do you ignore it and pretend it doesn't matter?

Do you get busy doing other things and push that thought to the back of your mind?

Can a cartoon movie provide insight?

January 8, 2012: I was listening to a speech given by Vishen Lakhiani, of FinerMinds, recently and he quoted a phrase from the movie "KungFu Panda". It was "I blind people with the light of my awesomeness".

This got me thinking about how movies, even cartoons, can provide us with a moment of vision/clarity about things we are dealing with. How often do we sit watching a movie and say either out loud or to ourselves "Hmmmm, that's an interesting thought"?

I believe that those moments are the

Do your goals affect your happiness?

January 7, 2012: I heard a speaker say "don't tie your happiness your goals".

Your happiness should be self sufficient, not dependent on any one person or thing. If you tie your happiness to one "thing" then you have the potential to be disappointed by that "thing".

Our goals should come OUT OF our happiness, not be the CAUSE OF it. When we are happy, we are more in tune to set better and effective goals. Meeting those goals will add to our happiness, which in turn will allow us to create more goals.
