Hidden Potential in your Chaos?

Is your schedule out of controlYou’ve probably heard that, “if you want something done, give it to a busy person” but if you’re like most of the 100’s of women I’ve talked with over the last few years, your organizing systems leave something to be desired.

Here’s why “if you want something done, give it to a busy person” works and what that looks like…

Most women are great at taking on a lot of responsibilities and commitments, and find a way to follow through on everything they commit to.

BUT, if you ask her how she gets it done, she has absolutely NO CLUE!  She will probably tell you she is overwhelmed by the state of her life.

 She is constantly running from here to there and she never feels like she’s getting anything accomplished.

 And, she definitely isn’t taking any time for herself.

 This means that if you ask a busy woman to do something for you, it will get done, but she is giving up a piece of herself to do it.

Maybe you’re one of those busy women, or you know one.

Imagine how much happier you or she could be if you were on top of all the random things that come at you every day, and you knew whether or not you had time to take on any other tasks.

The easiest and most effective way to stay on top of your daily stuff is to keep up with things on a routine basis.  Then you are able to make quick decisions and changes when needed.

A good rule of thumb for maintaining a routine is to break things down to their simplest acts and do them on a regular basis.

With a working routine you can:

● Respond to emails in a timely manner

● Put your hands on any piece of paper whenever you need it (no more hunting)

● Rely on your calendar/schedule to tell you if you have time to add something new

● Know that if you were ever sidelined, your home would not fall apart, your family would know exactly what to do

Getting help to build your routine is like taking advantage of someone else’s trials and errors.  The sooner you start working on it the better.  And the longer you work at it, the more YOU it will be.

Mindset Monday – Why do we need to know why?


It seems like such a small question, but it also seems to cause the most distress in people.  The uncanny need to know why for everything.  Why is that???

My Coach recently told me I have to give up my “need to know why” before I do anything, or I will not continue to move forward.  At first, I was a little taken back.  BUT, how do I know if I’m making the right choice?  How do I know that this is what I need?  How do I feel comfortable and confident?  Whew!!!  Lots of fear there!!

In thinking about this need to know why, I realized that needing to know is only a defense mechanism to prevent me from making a mistake.  Why am I so afraid of making a mistake?  Well, my best guess is all the past mistakes that I’ve made have made me fearful of what others are going to say, and of “not being right”.

My biggest breakthrough was “WHO CARES!!”  Really, who cares if I make a mistake.  Mistakes are only bad if they make you run the other way or give up on a dream.  For the most part, mistakes are forgiven and you move on, learning from their mere presence in your life.

So, what is your reason behind your WHY???  Spend a few moments thinking about this and then GIVE IT UP!!!!!

Mindset Monday – Joy

When you think of Joy, what does it say to you.  Happiness, smiles, laughter are all depictions and feelings of Joy.

“Joy springs from within; no-one makes you joyous; you choose joyfulness” ~unknown

When we focus on being joyful,  we are more likely to see the things in our lives that bring us joy.  From as simple as the flowers growing wild in a field, to as elaborate as a garden planted with the utmost care and planning.

Joy can be ours to hold on to, if we choose to do so.  The choice is ours for the making.  SO, are you choosing to be joyful every day or are you letting your circumstances dictate the level of joy you feel??

We could all use to be joyful and spread the joy around.
